Rushnyk
Description
The rushnyk is a linen cloth which is hand-embroidered with different symbols and decorated with lace. It is an important part of Ukrainian folk culture till today. Every region in the Ukraine has its own designs and patterns. Colour plays an important and symbolic role. Most rushnyks are embroidered with red threads. Red is the colour of life.
