National Theatre Mannheim
Description
The National Theatre Mannheim and the Ethiopian National Theatre in Addis Ababa are outwardly so similar that one could imagine that both were built by the same architect. Both buildings date from the same period. However, unlike in Mannheim, the forecourt of the Theatre in Addis Ababa is adorned by the sculpture of a big lion. We are reminded of Addis Ababa whenever we see the National Theatre in Mannheim.
