Figure Skater Ondrej Nepela
Description
On Sundays, when I go skating with my son at the skating hall in Herzogenried, I think each time that I am standing on the very same ice on which the figure skater and multiple world champion Ondrej Nepela imparted his knowledge and techniques. He was only 38 years old when he died on 2nd February 1989 in Mannheim. Until his death, Ondrej Nepela coached Claudia Leistner to her European title. I am proud to say that my compatriot left his legacy for us Slovaks here in Mannheim.
